Keeping Christmas Dec. 1

This surprise 70 degree December afternoon sent our kids outside all day. The girls drug an old beat-up blanket onto the front lawn and read baskets of Christmas books from the library. The boys ran back and forth between neighbors' houses playing basketball, something like tennis in the driveway, and jumping on their trampoline.

All three girls had a birthday party to attend in the morning, so A took the boys out in the yard and told them to stay out until further notice.

We enjoyed a nice dinner with Andy's company at their Christmas party. We returned to find everyone sleeping (insert "glory, hallelujah" here). I am thankful for days when kids play hard and sleep hard. If only it were 70 degrees all summer here in South Carolina too.
