Everywhere we went in Hawaii, the tourism industry seemed intent on teaching us that the proper response to "Aloha" is "Aloha". More than just "hello", it means, "I love you, or I share myself with you"... So, it's rude to just say "hi" back.
Mom and I enjoyed many moments of aloha. Silly moments, quiet moments, adventure moments. I'm very thankful to have had the opportunity to take a trip with her.
